Data breach incidents continue to rise, causing significant damage to businesses. Proactive management of data is key to minimizing such damage. A key aspect of such management is understanding what personal data is held, why it is being held, and whether there are any laws, regulations and/or guidance on how long such personal data has to be retained and/or when such personal data has to be erased.
